Badges
Hi everybody.
Yesterday, I worked the election. It was a long slow day, but a good day, doing democracy with nice people.
Or assistant TO THE chief.
I have suddenly become this person with a bunch of badges. I didn't get a badge for being a mom, but one time Daph made me a medal that was shaped like a turkey. I'm sure I have it somewhere. I think I'll find it and stick it on the cart with all these new ones. It's my favorite one of all.
One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite people, seen on the bathroom wall at my precinct.
How are you?
I'm ok. I got up this morning and drove straight into the sun. Actually, I drove straight into Pennsylvania to have coffee with my friend. It was fun. We were in a very cute little town called New Oxford, near Gettysburg. The coffee was good, and it was great to catch up in real life this week instead of via our usual virtual walk.
Our other friend is hiking in the Alps this week, nbd, like some kind of Von Trap or something, so she did not join us. I am not at ALL jealous.
Some pictures from this morning:

It's been a long time since I originally packed my suitcase in mid-May. I've pretty much been living out of it for a month, and I keep waking up in the middle of the night with no idea where I am. My goals today are to unpack, do laundry, and get groceries. I don't have to work until Saturday, so I have a couple of days off to try to get my "at home" groove back. I'll be ready to hit the road again soon, but I think maybe I'll do it on a train next time.
This frog is at Daph's house. I'm pretty sure I need one.

OK. Go out there and do good things. Stay informed and engaged. Listen to good music. Read a book. Make some art. Take naps. Pet dogs. I hope you are doing OK.
Onward.
