Check Engine

Hi everybody.

How are you?

A lot of things are terrible, but for some reason, August is not. At least weather-wise. Yesterday morning, I was actually a little cold during my walk, so I had a hot coffee for the first time in a LONG time.

It's been cool and humid and cloudy in the mornings, and warm (but not hot!) and cloudy in the afternoons. There is no big heat wave on the horizon. I think August is our gift for making it through July this year. I'll take it.

Here are a few pictures from work and walks the past couple of days:

Black bear tried to get in the dumpster.

My car dashboard started going crazy with warning lights last night out of nowhere, so I have to take it to the dealership this morning. Luckily, they are able to get me a loner car, so I'll be able to get to the dentist and to work this afternoon. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with it. I don't so much mind the inconvenience, but a giant repair bill would really suck right now.

I hope you are all doing ok and continuing to do what you can to speak up and speak out against all this awful trumpery. The worst thing that could happen would be for people to give up. They want us to give up. Please don't give up.

If only people hadn't ignored the warning lights, we wouldn't be in this mess. Now the warning lights have turned to screaming sirens. Amazingly, some people are still ignoring them. At some point, things will be beyond repairable. We can't afford to let it go.

Lots of resources are available with ways to get involved. Free DC, Indivisible, 5calls, 50501...Please check them, or ask me if you aren't sure what you can do. Local friends, I think there is a rally at the courthouse on Saturday evening. See you there.

Onward.
