Five things

Hi everybody.
Doing OK?

I took a break from blogging yesterday because I had class and then a good friend's wedding. A very fun and joyful occasion. Today, there will be more time with good friends and I'm looking forward to it. I did go out for a walk this morning, though, because I really needed it.

A few pictures from my walk and the wedding:

Joy. So happy for my beautiful friend.

Quiet time with the dog in the morning is my favorite.

Apparently, the "government" wants federal workers to justify their existence by listing five things they accomplished last week.

Here are five things we can accomplish THIS week:

  • Call your 2 Senators and your Member of Congress to let them know what you think about (choose your issue). You can use a script from 5calls if you need to. The link is in my link list. Attend a town hall if they have one or visit their offices and talk to staff. Let them hear from you daily.
  • Cancel your subscriptions to Prime and the Washington Post if you have them and don't shop on Amazon. Shop local if you can. Subscribe to an independent news source. Wired is only $5/year.
  • Donate to or volunteer for an organization that supports a marginalized community that has been targeted by trump. Let me know if you need suggestions.
  • Check on your federal worker friends and family. Let them know they are supported and appreciated.
  • Don't pass up opportunities to speak up. Courage is contagious
  • Attend a protest if you can and if you feel safe doing so. (I know. That's six). There is one coming up on March 4 from 50501.
Finally, number seven, find ways to take care of yourselves and find joy. Joy is how we get through this.

Onward.
